Spiral Architect Germanium Treble Booster

Controls

Volume: The volume knob controls the overall output of the pedal. Turning the knob clockwise will produce more clipping.

Range: The range switch has 3 positions. The middle position is the classic treble booster sound. The up position adds more bass, filling in the sound substantially. The down position adds even more bass, turning the pedal into more of a fuzz.

Operation

While you should always experiment with your pedals, a good starting point for the Spiral Architect is to have it as the first pedal in your chain with the volume knob completely clockwise and the range switch in the middle or up position. Your amp should be set to be crunchy or a low level of distortion. The Spiral Architect works well either before or after fuzz and overdrive pedals.

The Spiral Architect can be powered with a 9-Volt battery or an external power supply. The external power supply MUST be a 9V, center negative supply. Using another power supply may damage your pedal.

The Spiral Architect has an internal bias pot to set the transistor at the proper operating voltage. You can adjust this to get more or less gain. Your pedal should already be biased to -7V, but germanium transistors are temperamental and heat sensitive. You can adjust this to taste, but we recommend using a multimeter on the test leads while doing so. Best results will be obtained in the -6.8 V- -7.2V range.
